Plantar Fasciitis and its Treatment

What is Plantar fasciitis?

Plantar fasciitis is a kind of foot pain caused by a problem with the plantar fascia, which links the heel and ball of your foot.

causes:

Plantar fasciitis is caused by a strain, tearing, or wearing out of the plantar fascia, a tough band of tissue in your feet. Wearing high heels, being a runner or dancer, sitting all the time, spending a lot of time on your feet on very hard surfaces, having tight calf muscles, or having flat feet or very high arches are all risk factors for fascia strains or tears. Being extremely overweight or having rheumatoid arthritis can also cause or worsen plantar fasciitis.

To determine whether you have plantar fasciitis, a physiotherapist at Elite Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Centre will do a physical examination.

Rest, icing, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medicines such as ibuprofen, or corticosteroid injection into your heel are all traditional treatments.
